Rosneft and the Krasnoyarsk Krai Ministry of Education To Create a New System of Personnel Training for the Region’s Oil Industry

Rosneft’s subsidiaries in Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Krai Ministry of Education signed an Agreement on the creation of educational and production clusters «Transport. Logistics» and «Fuel and Energy Complex» in the region as part of the implementation of the Federal Project «Professionalitet».
The document provides for partnership cooperation between the region’s Ministry of Education, Krasnoyarsk technical schools and colleges, and the Company’s subsidiaries operating in the region — RN-Vankor, Vostsibneftegaz, Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz, RN-Burenie, TaimyrBurService, Achinsk Refinery, RN-Service, and TBS-Logistics.
The educational and production centres will be the basis for a comprehensive reboot of the secondary vocational education system in the region to meet the real needs of industrial enterprises interested in the inflow of qualified workers.
Rosneft is carrying out large-scale exploration of oil and gas fields in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The Company is implementing its flagship Vostok Oil project in the Taimyr Peninsula, which is expected to employ about 400,000 specialists during construction and 130,000 during operation. There are already more than 10 thousand vacant positions in Taimyr today.
Participation of Rosneft enterprises in the federal project «Professionalitet» will ensure mass training of specialists in in-demand professions of the oil and gas industry, as well as improve the quality of skilled labour training.
Within the framework of the signed Agreement, the Krasnoyarsk College of Welding Technologies and Power Engineering will train workers for power plants, grids, relay protection and automation, electricians, welders, chemical technologists and other in-demand professionals in the fuel and energy sector.
Krasnoyarsk College of Transport and Service will train personnel for transport and logistics, the sphere which is in need for specialists in maintenance and repair of engines, systems and aggregates of vehicles, as well as crane operators, masters of repair and maintenance of vehicles, logisticians, drivers of various categories.
In addition, under the Agreement, Krasnoyarsk assembly and Taimyr colleges, Kansk Polytechnic and Kansk Technological Colleges, as well as the Technical School of Mining Engineering, Kansk Technical School of Sectoral Technologies and Agriculture, and Yemelyanovsky Road Construction Technical School will train qualified specialists for Rosneft enterprises.

Krasnoyarsk Region has been implementing a comprehensive recruitment and support programme for professional and higher education organisations for several years to provide Rosneft enterprises with qualified personnel. Eight educational institutions of the region, including the Siberian Federal University, were among the key educational institutions-partners of the project. 30 specialised areas of training in secondary vocational education organisations have been formed to meet the needs of the region’s oil workers.
The federal project «Profesionalitet» is aimed at modernising vocational education. The project is implemented through the creation of educational and production centres in close cooperation between professional educational institutions and enterprises of the actual sector of the economy.
