Rosneft and the Ministry of Tourism of Udmurtia Organise Mass Car Rally to Tchaikovsky’s Birthplace

07 October 2024

A tourist car rally to the birthplace of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was held with the support of Rosneft and the Ministry of Tourism of Udmurtia. Next year, the world will celebrate the 185th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer.

As part of the rally, a column of 100 cars drove from the Government House in Izhevsk to the Tchaikovsky Museum in Votkinsk. The estate where the great composer was born and spent his childhood was the setting for an excursion programme for the rally participants. Here, guests could immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the XIX century and get to know the life of the nobility. The jewel in the museum’s exposition is an antique grand piano, the first of the composer’s known surviving pianos.

Rally participants also took part in a samovar tea-making ceremony on cones, ancient board games, a musical quiz and a gastronomic masterclass. A stylised photo zone and a retro motorbike exhibition were open for those who wanted to take memorable pictures. The trip to the great composer’s birthplace culminated in a drummers’ show and a theatrical performance of The Nutcracker.

The car rally was another initiative within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between Rosneft and the Ministry of Tourism of the Udmurt Republic in the field of domestic tourism development, aimed at unlocking the region’s tourism potential using the developed infrastructure of the Company’s retail network of filling stations (represented in the region by Bashneft filling stations).

During the rally, participants were able to stop at Bashneft filling stations to refuel their cars with high-quality, environmentally friendly fuel and drink aromatic coffee.

Rosneft is committed to the development of domestic automobile tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for travellers. One of Rosneft’s key objectives is to enhance the quality of its roadside assistance and customer service at its filling stations.

Reference:

Rosneft’s retail network is the largest in the Russian Federation in terms of geographical coverage and number of stations, and the Rosneft filling station brand is one of the leaders in Russia in terms of recognition and fuel quality. The Company operates approximately 3,000 filling stations. There are 45 Bashneft filling stations in the Udmurt Republic.

Earlier, Rosneft signed memorandums on cooperation in the development of domestic tourism with the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Moscow City Tourism Committee, the Krasnoyarsk, Altai and Stavropol Territories, the Republic of Udmurtia, and the Arkhangelsk, Samara, Voronezh and Ulyanovsk Regions.

Udmurtia is also home to the region’s largest oil production enterprise, Udmurtneft, which is jointly managed by Rosneft and the Chinese petrochemical corporation Sinopec and accounts for 60% of the region’s hydrocarbon production.
