RN-Komsomolsk Refinery, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s refining complex, received an economic effect of 1.2 billion roubles in 2021 as a result of the implementation of the operational efficiency improvement programme.
Systematic work to improve the operating efficiency at facilities is one of the key elements of the Rosneft Strategy. The Company is working extensively to reduce the operating costs, including through the introduction of advanced technological solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption.
The Komsomolsk Refinery achieved the high performance by implementing 11 measures in the areas of “Optimisation of capacities and withdrawals”, “Reduction of energy consumption”, and “Reduction of costs”.
Among the most effective projects that have been implemented is the replacement of internal contact devices in the atmospheric and vacuum columns at the CDU/VDU-3 unit. As part of the project, all column contact devices were replaced with modern high-performance models designed for the current installation process.
Other successful projects include the organisation of electricity supply from the wholesale electricity and capacity market (WECM). The project aims to reduce the cost of acquiring energy from the external electricity grid. During its implementation, additional power equipment and controls were installed.
