RN-Vankor Acts as General Partner of Interregional Sledge Hockey Tournament

The 2nd Yenisei Ice Interregional Children's Sledge Hockey Tournament was held in Krasnoyarsk with the support of RN-Vankor (an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company's oil and gas production complex). The unique Paralympic competition was organised by the Open Hearts, a Krasnoyarsk regional NGO, with the participation of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Ministry of Sport and the city administration.
Teams from Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Khanty-Mansiysk and Novosibirsk took part in the Yenisei Ice tournament. Over three days, 55 athletes with disabilities competed for victory on the ice.
RN-Vankor's oil workers have been supporting the Open Hearts Foundation since 2011. Among the areas of cooperation was the implementation of a comprehensive adaptive sports programme for children with disabilities, which includes three components: sledge hockey, alpine skiing and hippotherapy. These sports help children with special needs to stay physically fit and socially adapted. RN-Vankor allocates funds for classes, the purchase of necessary equipment and the professional training of instructors.
Since the start of the comprehensive adaptive sports programme, more than 2,500 sessions have been held with around 500 children. RN-Vankor also supports the treatment of children with disabilities, complex surgery and rehabilitation.
