The refinery’s operational efficiency department, together with the departments concerned, has implemented 19 measures aimed at optimising operating modes and using modern, energy-efficient equipment. This reduced the consumption of fuel and energy resources and increased the output of marketable products by 1,200 tonnes.
Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Company’s strategy. Rosneft carries out consistent work aimed at sustainable utilization of energy resources and reduction of energy consumption, optimization of electrical and thermal loads in accordance with the requirements of international standard ISO 50001 “Energy Management System”.
The most significant of the energy-saving measures under the energy-saving programme is the conduct of optimisation of the operating mode of the technological furnace equipment, which made it possible to reduce fuel consumption by 6,300 tonnes year-on-year. The enterprise has also modernised boiler and heat-exchange equipment and replaced trunk pipelines. This reduced heat consumption by 2,400 Gcal.
In addition, the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery is implementing a programme to convert its existing lighting system to energy-saving and environmentally friendly sources. Currently, the use of energy-saving lamps in plant facilities is over 90%. By reducing electricity costs and replacing lamps with LED ones, more than 8 million roubles have been saved over the past three years.
