Rosneft Oil Company has launched a large-scale programme to support vocational and higher education organisations in the Krasnoyarsk Territory to train skilled workers and engineers. In the region, the Company is implementing major projects, of which the largest is Vostok Oil.
To meet Vostok Oil’s needs, 30 specialised training areas have been formed in secondary vocational education institutions, including nine new ones. The Company is upgrading the facilities of educational institutions, and equipping workshops and laboratories with modern oil and gas simulators and machinery. A comprehensive programme was designed to develop the expertise of teaching staff in the oil and gas specialisation.
The project’s key partner educational institutions include the Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk College of Welding Technology and Energy, Krasnoyarsk Transport and Service College, Yemelyanovo Road Construction Technical College, Igar Comprehensive College, Achinsk Oil and Gas Technical College, Krasnoyarsk Mounting College and Taimyr College.
Krasnoyarsk Mounting College trained 37 specialists in oil field development and operation in 2021. Most of the graduates joined the staff of Rosneft’s enterprises operating in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Igar Comprehensive College and Taimyr College will graduate oil production specialists in 2022 and 2023.
Moreover, there are six Rosneft Classes operating in the region as part of the corporate school-university-enterprise training system. The Company is also working to establish a Corporate Training Centre in Krasnoyarsk to provide practice-oriented training to students in core areas of the oil and gas industry.
Rosneft and the Siberian Federal University has been in cooperation since 2008. With the Company’s financial and organisational assistance, a training and laboratory building for the Oil and Gas Institute, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, was built at SFU. It is now one of the most in-demand institutions, with up to 17 applicants per seat, depending on the field of study.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Rosneft is represented by major enterprises such as RN-Vankor, Vostsibneftegaz, Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz, Achinsk Refinery, RN-Burenie, RN-KrasnoyarskNIPIneft, RN-Krasnoyarsknefteproduct and others, which are considered to be among the most attractive employers. Developing partnerships with educational organisations such as schools, colleges and universities is one solution to the problem of providing qualified local personnel for the Company’s large-scale projects.
