89 projects developed by young specialists of Rosneft Oil Company are to be recommended for implementation at the Company’s enterprises.
The young people defended their expertise during the 15th Rosneft Interregional Scientific and Technical Conference of young professionals. The projects featuring unconventional ideas and bold solutions cover all areas of the Company’s activities: production and services, refining and petrochemicals, oil product supply, research, shipbuilding and ship repair. Young professionals with one through three years’ experience competed to win.
The final round of the Conference involved 395 participants. 97 young people emerged as winners, runners-up and nominees. The projects were evaluated by a competent jury of 83 managers and experts from the Company’s Headquarters, headed by A.N. Shishkin, Vice President for Informatisation, Innovations and Localisation. A total of 319 projects were submitted to the jury.
The Company annually holds scientific and technical conferences to develop the expertise of young professionals, to enhance their motivation to solve state-of-the-art production problems, involve them in innovative research and design activities, and identify and encourage young people with high potential. The projects of young professionals selected at the conference in 2018 brought Rosneft an economic impact of 275 million roubles a year later.
“The event is not just a competition for bright and beautiful ideas, but a platform for the development of young professionals. They are given the opportunity to implement their project, to bring it to fruition. And the result is the Company’s actual achievements,” Alexander Pashali, Director of Rosneft Scientific and Technical Development and Innovation Division, said in closing the Conference.
The Interregional Scientific and Technical Conference included 16 sections covering all core business processes.
“We look for talented young people who can generate original ideas, develop and implement new technologies, and work with advanced equipment,” Didier Casimiro, First Vice President of Rosneft, said as opening the Conference on November 17, 2020.
In 2020, the Interregional Scientific and Technical Conference took place online, which provided additional opportunities to all interested parties. This year, the enterprises gained access to 319 projects by conference participants in all 16 sections posted on the corporate portal, instead of the usual 20-30 per section. The usual two days of the offline conference turned into 33 days of eager work in a variety of formats.
The Company holds scientific and technical conferences in three stages. At the first stage, Regional Conferences of young professionals are held in Rosneft Group subsidiaries. In 2020, Regional Scientific and Technical Conferences were held in 97 Rosneft Group subsidiaries, attended by 2,716 young professionals out of 4,001 young professionals working for the Company.
